The words “viral marketing” used to drive me nuts because I never understood what “viral marketing” meant. I get it now.
So, here’s a video where I explain it.

1. Viral Video
Let’s keep it simple. Make a cool video that has great information that people will want to share. Stick it up on YouTube with your URL branded on it and get it some traffic.
Or make a silly video that is very entertaining…both work – just depends on what niche you’re in and what kind of traffic you want to get.
The rest is history!

2. Incentivized Social Media
This is a new fun thing I’ve tried recently. Just look on the RIGHT side of this blog, see the image that says “Win a Free iPad” – yes, that’s me BRIBING you to get you to tweet about this blog or Facebook it!
Pure and simple. Create something of VALUE (that is worth it for someone to tell others about), then BRIBE them to do it for you.
Just click that page and read it and it’ll make sense.
On my last check, over 600 people had TWEETED and over 200 had Facebook’d!
3. STATS Based Press Releases
I really want to get into more detail on this, but I’ll probably make an entire blog post just about this later. Here is the short of it…
You hear, all the time, “use press releases…use press releases…” – but not all press releases are created equal, not even CLOSE.
The KEY is the content in those Press Releases. So, here’s what I did once with one of my sites in a Health niche (it’s about a specific disease). So, here’s what I did…
- I put together a survey of 5 questions
- I asked specific health related, medication related questions
- I emailed my small list of 1,000+ people on it…
- I collected the data
- I revealed the data through a Press Release
It was INSANE. You’ll see the REAL impact of viral marketing when you see your stuff go viral on MEDIA. My press release got picked up by huge health related sites and was talked about EVERYWHERE.
Because the health niche is so un-researched, they’ll take any “data” they can get!
