So, I’m reading this book called “Star Signs” by Linda Goodman – it’s about Astrology and tying Astrology into personal/professional success. I’m not much into Astrology really, but I’m always keen to read and learn something new!
A quote in the book really caught me (end of Chapter 1):
I’ve been broke but I’ve never been poor. Being broke is temporary. Being poor is a state of mind…
It’s very rare that phrase catches my eyes enough for me to stop and write about it, but this one did.
I immediately related to it! I can tell you right now, I’ve been broke MANY times in my life. What’s amazing is that each of those times, I NEVER chose the word “poor” to describe myself – I always intuitively said “broke.”
Your Mind – The Powerful Jedi!
I never realized it till now, but I’ve never believed nor been willing to believe that I’m poor. Even if my bank account was empty, I knew that the “assets” I had (even if it’s just my personality and drive) would never let me be considered POOR.
On the other hand, I have friends who I’ve regularly heard use the word “poor” – it’s amazing to see the difference. If they don’t change the words they use, they’re psychologically programming themselves to STAY poor forever!
LESSON: Your Mind is a powerful BEAST – it controls much of what’s around you. Don’t EVER say you’re poor. Change that right now.
Remember, your current state of “being” is a direct result of the actions you’ve taken and the things you’ve MANIFESTED. Just as easily as you got yourself in your current state, you can get yourself out!
Cool quote, really re-emphasized to me the power of the mind…
